"Good Life", the third album by SALOMEA, is a utopia. 17 songs in a majestic blend of raw 2000s R’n’B and Hip hop vibes, Neo-soul and a futuristic, contemporary jazz aesthetic on an album that effortlessly sets international standards. An album like this - made in Germany? The first utopia. But beneath the seemingly light-hearted title lies much more: a manifesto of hope, resistance, love, and gratitude. A complex sonic world, a stunningly powerful production, and vocals of the highest caliber. Combined with lyrics that delve deep and engage in serious dialogue, with a belief that the transformation of pain into beauty and art is possible. Often: a utopia. "Good Life," predominantly written and produced by leader and songwriter Rebekka Salomea, sets the mood right from the beginning. The original recording of the artist as a sensitive child, telling how things were and how they can become. An album intro with a clear vision. Lyrics that break with hetero-normative narratives, celebrate femmes* and mothers. And an urgent call to listen and engage in meaningful conversation – which is still too rare in the music scene, especially in Jazz. The immediate stories of diasporic displacement and separation, grief and finding comfort, and the contrast through the courage, kindness, and hope inherent in the album make "Good Life" an exceptional experience. An album drawing on a life’s journey - as a place, as a sound and feeling of belonging and ultimately freedom.

"Good Life" was created in collaboration with producer oh.no.ty. Leif Berger (drums), Oliver Lutz (bass), Yannis Anft (keys), and Rebekka Salomea live up to their reputation as one of the finest live bands in the genre and manage to capture that energy. At the same time, the elaborate productions sound remarkably pointed, focused, and effortless. Songs like "Twirl Up," "Obsessing," "Layla Tov," "Knock Knock feat. Ray Lozano", or the title track "Good Life feat. Oscar #Worldpeace", serve as examples of a body of work with a genuine, authentic artistic vision and the resulting emotional power.

SALOMEA "Good Life" will be released in October 2024 on LP, CD, and digitally worldwide via Papercup Records / Rough Trade / Believe.
